Smokey California

There are multiple fires in the Sierra Nevada's on the California side, started by the extreme drought and human negligence. Summer is fire season in Northern California and Northern Nevada. Seeing and breathing smoke is a normal thing here in the Summer. Fire season this year is a bit later than usual because they have been "seeding" the clouds making it rain, trying to curb the drought. However, in the seeding of the clouds making amazing thunderstorms, a rare thing in these parts, the lightning strikes have caused some of the fires.

Just South of Bishop, California.

The Truckee River that runs through Reno is but merely a creek at the moment. In the pockets of water, you'll see small schools of fish that are trapped, unable to move down river. It's most definitely a sight to see. I wish it would rain, rain, rain. I also wish that this winter it would snow, snow, snow. We depend on the snow pack for our water. The past five or so years have produced very little snow, and our Spring is dry as well. It's weird that a trucker would say, "I wish it would snow", but we need it big time.
