After my quite delicious brunch at Panda Express here in San Leandro, California, I decided to look at cell phones. The reason behind this is the fact my Sanyo powered by Cricket is a piece of junk. It freezes up a lot and reboots for no apparent reason. I was a happy Boost customer until Cricket was having a "free phone when you switch" deal. Mom, Ajay & Bubby jumped on that deal and pressured me into doing it too. It took awhile to get used to a touch screen, but I can do all kinds of stuff on it...except talk. With the Motorola phone I had no trouble hearing anything. This thing sucks as a phone, but is kinda good as a "hand held computer", even with it being a complete jackass sometimes. I first went into a Sprint store because I saw a "Boost Mobile" sign in the window. Like I said before, I was a happy Boost mobile customer before and I want to be one again. I walk in and start heading towards the Boost phones in a glass case. One of the workers asked me if he could help and I said yes. He asked my name and entered it into a computer and said someone will be with you after a while. WTF?! He just asked if HE could help me! So...anyways I'm standing around waiting on people who can't make up their mind or is arguing with a teenager over phone stuff. I got tired of hearing the BS and left. I then went into a Radio Shack. Good old Radio Shack, even though its a ghost of what it once was. I remember being able to walk into a Radio Shack and find any part I needed to fix an electronic something of other. Not anymore. Its all cell phone shit nowadays. Its actually quite sad to see how they had to change to stay in business, leaving us old people to fend for ourselves. Its hard for to find parts and adapters anymore. Anywho...I start talking to a rep about Boost and explained I am a trucker and need a better phone and coverage, and that I prefer Boost. He was explaining things in a very comical chubby "queer eye for the straight guy" fashion. He was serious and professional at his job. However, the way he was doing it was funny to me. I think he was hitting on me a little...maybe if I was liquored up and really horny. ;D Anyway....I left without a new phone. I myself am a bit undecisive about what phone to get. I love Motorola with the walkie talkie, and I love Android "phones". Can't have both in one. Which sucks ass, and not in a good way. While typing this though, an idea popped in my head. I know I'll have a higher monthly bill, but it could/should work. How bout I go back to Boost and get a Motorola walkie talkie phone so I can hear people when the call me. Which is the original purpose of a phone anyway. Then at the same time, get one of those tablet thingies. They have internet...I think. Not sure though because I never looked at them. I think that might be the best way to go and have what I want... a phone I can actually talk and hear with, and a "hand held computer" to do business stuff on while on the road.....
