Well...this is the first in hopefully many updates. Reason why I say that is because I might forget or not have service for my phone. Ok, anyway,...today was a long tiring day. I woke up at 0700 to get a jump on that Florida load I was promised. Before I even got dressed I was on the phone with dispatch, and it was the same story about whom ever set it up is dicking around. Andrew told me to finish the load Jim told me to drop in the Phoenix yard on Sat...and I sat all day Sunday in hopes that they would give some info on the Florida load. BUT NO NOTHING! That's why I got up early to shake some info about the load. So, anyway...I was told to finish the load I brought over from Mira Loma, then run a load up to Albuquerque. Ok no problem...however I couldn't find my trailer. I drove around the yard 5-6 times. Still no trailer. I called in saying about the trailer, naturally they ask if even looked.WTF! Of course I looked, that's why I'm calling and telling you I can't find the trailer. The yard goat didn't see it, but dispatch says it was. Also, the paperwork was in the guard shack. The shop on the phone said it wasn't there either. So there was this big mystery about the missing trailer full of Home Depot stuff. I kept circling like a Vulture, and eventually found it in the shop having a some kind of service done on it. I questioned the dude he said it wasn't entered in the computer. I asked him why he didn't actually walk the shop and look. He didn't have an answer. As I was calling Andrew he was calling me, I told him about the shop. He said just go grab that Albuquerque load. Oh yeah before I forget there was a bee hive in the nose of one of the trailers. The yard goat was freaking out saying it was a swarm of bees. I didn't see a swarm, I saw a bunch of bees hanging onto each other under the nose of a trailer. Hardly any were flying around. It must have been still too early for the bees. I told the yard goat to move the queen somewhere else and the rest of the bees will follow her. The look on his face was priceless! Nothing but fear and disbelief that I told him to reach in there and grab the queen! Lol :D
I then head straight over to Albertsons to grab the load. I had to wait a little while for them to finish loading the trailer. It had a stop in Phoenix, which took me longer to get there and back up than it did to remove the pallets. Then I drove straight to Albuquerque non stop. The trip seemed fairly quick. The offload at the store went smooth as well.
After delivering I came over here to the T/A and lucked out on getting a parking spot. I pulled in to it instead of backing. It was easier due to the angle, plus me being tired I didn't want to back into another truck. After patting myself on the back for grabbing this spot I went inside to eat. The waiter is a dude that I think spent understand much English. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with home fries. I get a grilled cheese with fries. I had to literally tell the cook what I wanted. Then it was ok. Now I'm back I'm the truck typing all this. They have me on a load that picks up here in Albuquerque going up to Denver for tomorrow night. So with this in mind I definitely think the Florida load fell through, at least for this "Reno truck". I'm sure a Phoenix truck will get it. Oh well fuck it. Maybe its best I stay out West here. Anyways, that was my day.
