TRUCKER LOG: Las Vegas - Tulare - Chino - Fontana

Aye! What a long ass day! I started in Vegas and high tailed it to Tulare in an attempt to make delivery by 4pm. As is usually the case, that didn't happen. So, I dropped the load of hay I picked up in Utah at the yard in Tulare. Some other driver will have to finish the load some other time.
After I dropped the hay load, I walked the lot looking for an empty. About ten trailers later, I found one. I walked back to the truck and drove around to hook to the trailer. After hooked, I called dispatch to assign the next load on me. Which is a Georgia Pacific load going to Amazon.Com in Reno on Sunday morning from Chino, California.
Before I took off on the two hundred mile plus run to grab the load, I filled the diesel tanks and grabbed some PukeDonald's. I didn't have to wait long to get my fuel, but OMG inside took forever! The workers were running around like chickens with their heads cut off but wasn't really doing anything. I don't understand why they want $15hr when the service is always lousy and the dining room is always dirty. Anyways, I finally get my burgers and power walk back to the truck, because I know the driver behind me is done by now. I signal to the guy about the food taking so long to get. He nodded his understanding.
I hop in the truck, fire it up, put it gear and release the brakes. However, before I can hit the big road, I have to wait on numerous trucks backing up. The Sun is going down and its at that angle that blinds the Hell out of ya. After 10-15 of waiting, I finally get back on the highway heading south towards Chino, which is in the L.A. area. Luckily for me the traffic is decent for Southern California. I have to watch my speed though because its only 55 for trucks.
I run the 200+ miles deadhead to Chino, only to get treated like garbage from the security guard. He said how they're closed and won't be open until Sunday and I have to leave, blah, blah, blah. I question him on it, but he stood his ground. I told him I need to sit here for a bit so I can call dispatch. He says, "only for a minute". WTF!
I call dispatch and told them what's going on. They said find somewhere to park and call in the the morning. I'm literally out of available hours for the day. So, that's what I did, I got back on the highway and came over here to the yard in Fontana. This place is packed! But I found a spot, wiggling the trailer in slowly so I don't hit anything. Now I'm writing this. I'm wore out.
